Miguel Rodríguez Beneyto

Born in 1888, he was interested in string instruments and learnt to play the guitar and the bandurria.

He felt so much admiration and respect for his instruments that he wanted to learn how to construct them. At the early age of 18, he founded his own workshop. After a period of time, in 1939, together with his sons, Miguel and Rafael, they moves the workshop into Alfaros Street.

Punctilious as it can be, his guitars are set apart by their wood quality and sound, and for the detailed work in the interior detail. Once someone asked him: ‘Why do you create these details if no one is going to see them?’ and Miguel answered very clearly: ‘I see them, that is enough’.

He died in 1975
