He stopped building guitars in 2013 and it is now his son and grandson who follow his tradition and passion for this great instrument.

The selection of woods used for this instrument are, for the top, German spruce with an exceptional sonority and a high quality grain, Indian rosewood for the body (sides and back) of an impressive beauty and characteristics, with finishes and fillets truly precious considered as cuts of unique pieces.

Flamenco guitar built by the firm Conde Hermanos on the number 7 of Gravina street in Madrid. It was built by Domingo Esteso’s nephews, Mariano and Faustino, and it is called a ‘third-class’ guitar, simply because of its lesser quality woods. Despite this, the value for money is excellent and it has been built by hand in the same exact way as the so-called ‘first-class’ guitars, giving it its exceptional sound and, in many occasions, there’s nothing to envy to first-class guitars, and that’s why there has always been a high demand of this kind of guitars among professionals.

Flamenco guitar crafted by the guitar maker Juan Roman Padilla, born in 1928. Since the age of nine, he became fascinated by the world of luthiers until 1960, when he studied with the grand master German Perez Barranco, although he was mainly self-taught.

He was a great innovator and many luthiers and craftsmen sought his knowledge and advice. His guitars are of great quality and excellent but simple finishing. Juan Roman is not active at the moment.
